Passion Story of the Month| July

Hey lovelies!

WOW!! It has been quite a while since I've sat behind a computer to write a blog post instead of editing a video. It feels weird to be back, BUT it's a good weird.

At the moment, I only plan on finishing this little series ("Passion Story of the Month") on my blog for the few remaining people who graciously submitted their stories. It would absolutely be wrong for me to not finish out the series strong as well as share the sweet stories of members of the Classy Crew.

In terms of the future, I'm still postponing further blog posts since my main focus is my YouTube channel (stayclassybyjazzy), but maybe I'll resurrect this blog again one day, but for now enjoy July's Passion Story of the Month.

This month's story features a good friend of mine from high school: Alexis Seilkop!
She's super sweet, incredibly intelligent, and she has such a heart for Christ and spreading God's goodness on this Earth.

Without further ado....

ice breaker:

fave color: purple!

fave holiday: Christmas🎄

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what meal would that be?
A: my momma's spaghetti!!!🍝

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
A: Australia

team pancakes or team waffles?
A: most definitely waffles

Okay, now for the heavy hitters....

Q: What is/are your passion(s) and how did you discover it/them?

A: My first passion would be Jesus Christ. Even when I try to distance myself or try to create my own path instead of listening to what He wants for my life, He still loves me unconditionally. It's a pretty amazing feeling! Another one of my passions would be positively impacting my friends, family and even strangers. I've always felt the need to be the best girlfriend, friend, daughter and sister I can be. I really enjoy being those things to the most important people in my life! My family and friends (and my pup Dabo) have helped mold me into who I am, so I'd say they are a huge part of my passions and life. Also, you never know what someone is going through, so I always try to be kind to strangers. Lastly, now that I am a freshman in college, I'd say Clemson University has become a HUGE passion of mine! Cheering on the (best) football team, meeting new friends and gaining knowledge about my major and myself have been just a few things that have made Clemson feel like home to me. GO TIGERS!

Q: How did you go about developing your passion(s)/becoming more skilled in it/them?

A: Developing my passions for Jesus Christ have come from going to church and getting involved in a small group. I have developed my passion to leave a positive impact by paying attention to what I say and how it affects others. I have also fed off of my family and friends' joy. Being around others who are joyous can rub off on you in a great way! Within my university, I have tried to take every opportunity I can to learn something new, meet new people, or grow the friendships that I already have. It has truly been an amazing experience so far.

Q: Do you plan to include your passion(s) into your future career?

A: Yes I do! I plan to major in Bioengineering next semester, so I will be in contact with other engineers and patients once I get my degree. I plan to be a light in the lives of the people I work and interact with in my workplace, whether it be in a hospital or lab. I can always somehow find a way to positively impact someone's life, even if it's from behind the scenes.

Q: What advice do you have for someone who finds your story or passion(s) inspiring?

A: I would say go after whatever is inspiring you! The worst that could happen is you realize it's not really meant for you. At that point, you can just keep searching for other passions! Getting to know yourself might seem challenging, but you really just have to keep an open mind and be honest with yourself about how you feel about certain things. Your greatest passions will come to you and drive you to be the person that you are meant to be!

Q: How would you define "staying classy"?

A: I think "staying classy" means to show respect to others' ideas and viewpoints. I think it's really important to keep an open mind in today's world and learn how to respect and honor our differences.
